International-Womens-day

8th March is International Women’s Day which is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

This morning  I attended the 2017 Inspirational Women’s Breakfast supported by the dVT Group at the Tea Room, QVB Sydney. The event truly lived up to its name. The beautiful, elegant surrounds of the Tea Room was the perfect setting for a large crowd of professional, articulate women  who have varied and impressive career backgrounds, endless ability and long list of achievements.

The master of ceremonies, Peter Overton, Channel 9 News Anchor and Suelen McCallum, principal of dVT Group hosted a panel of guest speakers included Erin Molan, Lindsay Rogers and Cath Norman who all looked far to amazing and glamorous for 7am in the morning . These wonderfully inspiring career women shared their thoughts, experience and challenges with us during Peter’s thought provoking interview with each of them.

In addition to providing everyone with an insightful morning , this event also supported the Special Olympics to help increase awareness and raise funds for a great sporting organisation that helps thousands of Australians with intellectual disability through the joy of sport and community.

Today, I hope all women take a moment to reflect on their achievements and the valuable contribution they each make to our communities, families, schools, economic, social, political and cultural environment. Through meaningful collaboration, we can help women advance and unleash the limitless potential offered to economies the world over.
