Projects are being fast tracked to create more jobs. The NSW Government has announced a $3B boost to create $100B infrastructure pipeline in NSW. With a focus on creating new jobs, the new $3 billion acceleration fund will go towards raising the government’s infrastructure pipeline to $100 billion. This initiative is expected to create 20,000 additional jobs in NSW to help strengthen the path to economic recovery.

The guaranteed pipeline of $100 billion will help support new infrastructure projects and for smaller construction-ready projects around the state. The Parramatta Powerhouse museum will be delivered through the infrastructure pipeline and is expected to create more than 1,100 construction jobs in Western Sydney, along with 2400 indirect jobs.

Across Australia, as of last March 2020, there were 21 major infrastructure projects underway or at commencement stage. The range of project types are varied and aside from road and rail initiatives, many projects encompass utilities, energy, social, cultural and telecommunications-based work.
